I had a fairly large job that required me to cut a lot of 2 7/8 inch oil field tubing. I called a friend of mine who I knew had experience with oil field tubing. I wanted to get away from the compound blade because of the dust and cost. Spring . He recommended a diamond blade for the job. I have two cold cut saws, one 12" and the other 14". I knew I couldn't use a regular cold cut saw blade on a rusty oil field pipe so I took my friends advice and bought a DiamondX Heavy Duty 14" (14") x .130 x 1" - 20mm Side Cover - For use with hand saws and concrete saws for cutting rebar, malleable pipes and similar products. It wasn't the best choice for my project, each cut took too long and it was tough on my saw. I ended up burning my saw, looking back I see it as a poor choice of blades for my type of application. I'm not saying this blade doesn't work for what it's intended for, it just didn't work for me at all.
