I didn't pay attention to the description which says this does NOT support electric brakes. (It also doesn't work with the charging circuit or the reverse lights). However, it does what it says on the tin - allows you to connect the trailer's 7-pin plug to your 4-wire vehicle, providing the main lights. It comes with a pretty solid mount and the necessary hardware to install it. The spring-loaded dust cover is simply a dust cover. There is no rubber gasket so it is not waterproof without custom mods. It's probably best to keep it in the glove box and only use it when needed, not all the time. The included instructions say "Cannot be connected to use electric brakes and accessories." In fact, if like me you've misread the description and don't mind adding the extra 3 wires yourself, it can. Simply loosen a few set screws, spread it open and inside is a standard solid pin connector with screw terminals designed for spade connectors. If I were to do it again I would buy a pre-wired one for a dollar or two more and save myself some extra work.
