Although the inverter hums, its cord is long enough to hide under the seat and wrap it in some kind of sound absorbing material. 32 feet was enough for my 2-door car, but it wouldn't be enough for a 4-door car if you do what I do. I wrapped the cable all the way around the cab windows and on the dash, even circling the shift knob and steering wheel. The brightness is what I expected, but not enough to illuminate the entire cockpit, just the surroundings. It's bright enough to illuminate the footwells and now adds a nice touch to the overall ambiance of the car. I just have to figure out how to glue it to the places on the car where I can't get a seam because there's no room for a seam. I bought blue and it's the perfect color.
