A long career with a mechanical background has helped make this setup easier than it could be for a beginner. The receiver comes with no instructions, so you can spend a few bucks more and get one of the "famous brands" kits they include in the product box. It fits right into my factory 2003 Ram 1500 hitch, no drilling required. The only issue I had was that the pre-bent wires used to 'catch' 2 large bolts through the tubular frame of the existing works hitch were barely long enough to thread the bolts through. Unlike other kits of this type, the bolts have been WELDED to the washers, making it difficult to pull them through the tube frame as a whole (most other kits have separate internal washers).
