Review on Davias Luggage Suitcase Wheels Repair Kit - 1 Pair, Black by Juan Huerta

Very good kit. Good quality wheels when you are ready to get the job done. A caveat unrelated to this product is the complicated replacement work, which should only be done by someone who is comfortable and has decent tools. I used these wheels to replace a damaged wheel on a 10 year old American Tourister and it was hard work. First I had to remove the wheel wrench from my suitcase to get to the axle. It was held in place by two screws and two rivets. I had to grind the rivets from the inside of the case. After the bracket was removed I had to pull the old wheel out of the bracket. First I tried sawing off the axle with a hacksaw - I couldn't even touch it. Must have been hardened steel because a new hacksaw blade wouldn't even scratch it. I ended up drilling the axle from the inside of the bracket - again very hard steel. Once the old axle is off, the hardest part is done. Most importantly when removing the old wheel you are also careful not to damage the wheel mount as the tolerances are very tight and if you get it wrong the new wheel will rub against the inside of the mount.
