There is no misinformation available about this device. Right on top of the main points it says it only works on 2.4GHz. However, none of the phones in our house (even very old ones) connect to 2.4GHz by default. I also couldn't find a way to select my 2.4GHz network version on my Samsung S10. What I did was go into the router settings under "Advanced Wi-Fi Options" and temporarily disable the 5GHz signal. After doing this, my phone automatically switched to 2.4GHz WiFi and I was able to set up the device without any issues. After the setup was complete, I accessed the same router settings and re-enabled 5GHz. Now everything is set up and I can access the app to find out the temperature of my grill on any of our devices. Youtube how to enter the router settings. The required password is printed directly on the router next to the make, model, and serial number. Hope this helps someone. 4 stars because I have other 2.4GHz devices and don't need to do these steps. I'm not a software engineer, but these other companies somehow manage it, and the same standard should be used here.
