Review on BLACK+DECKER Workmate Portable Workbench WM125: 350 lb. Capacity - Efficient and Mobile by Richard Cartner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

5 stars IF you know of their build video

There is a video from Black and Decker showing how to install the bank link below: EDIT: Revain wouldn't let me post a link but if you search "Black and Decker Workmate 125 Assembly" on Youtube you will find it. As many other people have pointed out, the installation instructions are terrible, which is the main downside of this product. But if you watch the video (and pause at key moments to watch your partner at various stages of construction), you shouldn't have any problems. A few other important things to note: Don't use stupid cotter pins to hammer the handles! It's really difficult to use properly and you risk injury or bending the handle with a hammer. As another reviewer pointed out, use #6-32 1 and 1/4 nuts and bolts instead. Buy a 6-pack (99 cents at home storage), you'll need the other 4 for the next problem. The rubber feet keep falling off, which is annoying. To fix this you can drill holes in the legs and feet so you can add nuts and bolts to hold them in place (see image). Drilling a 9/64 hole is sufficient to accept the #6-32 screws. I know. It would be nice if Black & Decker just made this thing and just gave you a box of screws for $0.99. But even with these flaws, it still deserves 5 stars considering the extremely low price ($29) and more importantly the fact that once built properly it is a solid product. More versatile and useful than many other things that cost a lot more.
