Alexa and Google just turn it on and off

This is a beautiful and durable device. The wires are quite thick, with good insulation. The sensor connector is tight. Setup is pretty easy, except it took a lot of tries to connect to Wi-Fi, even at close range. Alexa and Google Assistant commands are limited to on and off. What you can already do manually or through the application. You can just as easily connect any other thermostat controlled device to a smart socket to achieve the same function. They don't tell you the temperature, current status, or change settings with voice commands. Pretty much the reason I bought the Wi-Fi version was for more verbal control. So disappointed. I figured they had more commands than just on/off when you can already do that from the app. It does not make sense. But here it is. A box with frosting and a sour taste inside. Although the screen/sensor refresh is fast, the response to a temperature rise is fast, but the response to a temperature drop to ambient is slow as molasses. So if you're looking for precise temperature control, you may need to adjust the delay. I was hoping that each output relay could be controlled independently with two separate on and off rates, but no, one is for heating only and the other is for cooling and they cannot overlap. It would probably be more efficient to use two separate Wi-Fi controllers, then you'd have a lot more control.

Pros
  • Temperature Control
Cons
  • Power outlet required
