Review on Transform Your Home With The Star Wars Talking Darth Vader Clapper - Wireless Clap Detection On/Off Light Switch For Ultimate Convenience And Smart Home Integration by Tim Curd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cool TV Ad of the time, not so much in person in today's time.

An obsolete relic of the past that doesn't have a place in present time. With voice activated devices and wifi controlled light bulbs, it cannot compete. On top of that, it's a hit or miss on it detecting the claps. When you think about it, you have to make very loud claps in the dead of the night hoping it heard all of your claps correctly to activate it, as opposed to motion activated lights, or turning on the lights with your phone or voice, which you do not have to yell or be loud. I got it for nostalgia purposes, tried to use it as a reliable daily but it fails too many time. My echo dot with a smart plug is just three words and lights are on or off, or a press of the button in the app. I wouldn't recommend this, even for nostalgia purpose.

Pros
  • Smart home integration means you can control your lights with voice commands or through an app
Cons
  • The product may not be very reliable in extreme temperatures
