Review on πŸ”₯ Cold Side Intercooler Pipe Upgrade Kit: Enhance Performance of 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel 6.7 by Duane Hayes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price and easy installation. Fits easily on my 2011 F250!

The kit fitted my 2011 F250 6.7 perfectly as other reviews said the clamps could be a bit larger but you can also remove the spring on the clamp screw if You're having too much trouble or Do like me and reuse the factory T-clamps, which are slightly larger. I used the factory clamps on the intercooler connection and bottom pipe connection and I used the supplied clamps on the top connections and everything came together great. The converter doesn't snap in securely enough for me, so I wrapped the tubing that holds the tab on the converter. As far as I can tell this problem is due to the transducer design not matching the hose, but maybe if the plug on the hose was a bit thicker it would help. I would recommend it to friends and buy this set again. My stock air intake was leaking, not to mention ripped apart. I noticed a nice difference in low RPM power and response with this kit installed. The connection to the factory throttle body seemed tight enough in the o-ring to hold the boost, I couldn't see my leak but if you're not careful to make sure the clip is fully engaged I could see it happening. I suspect other reviews that said theirs were leaked had this issue and they didn't realize I had to fiddle with mine a bit until I saw that the clip fell fully into the groove where I put the Clip inserted before I put it on as other kits suggest. If you need instructions, just check out other kits on YouTube. The only thing to do with this is make sure you rotate the tube so the sensor is up and not down like it was at the factory. Silicone if you do this it will fit perfectly. We'll see how it goes in the long run, but I suspect it will hold up well because not much can go wrong with it.

Pros
  • Consistent results when tested
Cons
  • Could have gone with a newer model
