Sorry, there was a problem with the units. I have 2 of these and both are having problems. I've found that they differ by 10dB (relative to each other). *Tested in a quiet room, sitting side by side - see photo. I even swapped them around, but hey - there is NO 10dB difference at 3". Digital readings vary (sensitivity) but differ by 10dB all the time. With only 2 sound pressure meters, how do I know which one is the right one? when trying to troubleshoot problems. They were attentive and friendly. Below are the problems I have encountered with two devices had: Device #1: The power button didn't turn off the device - I had to remove the batteries to turn it off Cannot set the time/date (probably due to the power button as per the instructions). isments). Extremely sensitive, making it difficult to *average* the SPL. Can't *apparently* make the USB connection to my PC. Device #2: The power button on this device works as expected for turning it on and off. However, the backlight of this device can only be switched on when dBA is measured (note that the backlight switches correctly in both dBA mode and dBA mode of device #1). I still can't set the time/date. Still overly sensitive, making it difficult to average the SPL*. I have not attempted to set up a USB connection on this device. In the meantime I have bought an analogue device with a damped needle - this allows the average sound pressure level to be read off very well.
