I was so excited about this carafe but very soon it became a disappointment 1) This carafe is very small. What is misleading is the size of the cone. Based on the expected size of the cone, the decanter can be expected to be at least 50% larger. But then you realize that not only the carafe is small, but also the cone is small. So filter #4 is too big for this decanter. 2) No proper airflow. So there is no perforation in the cone itself that would help vent trapped air from below. In theory there should be an open flow of air near the beak, but it gets blocked because the filter doesn't fit, so it shrinks and blocks the air. This causes the coffee to bubble and can get very dirty! 3) The most important thing! Filter support is not available. Therefore, it can easily happen that the filter breaks and all the coffee ends up in the glass! This happened to me twice in the first three attempts. What contributes to the frequent separation of the filter is actually trapped air (see "2"). Either way, it's a beautiful piece of glass and I think I'll keep it for just that. But how to pour coffee into a carafe - a very lousy product. Do not buy this if you really intend to brew coffee in it. Only good as a decoration.
