Review on ๐Ÿ’ป Enhance Your PC or Mac Connectivity with PCE-U312C: USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C 10Gbps Expansion Card by James Lapa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy installation, no internal power cable required

This expansion card offers the perfect way to add USB-C 3.1 Gen2 ports to any PC that either doesn't have USB-C ports or came with older Gen1 ports. Unlike many USB-C add-on cards, this card has an integrated power converter, eliminating the need to connect a SATA/Molex cable to the PC power supply. This greatly simplifies installation, and if your computer case has a window on the side, you'll have a better view of the inside. My PC is running Windows 10, so it only took a few minutes to get this card working. I just turned off the computer, plugged the card into an available PCIe slot (x8 in my case), and turned the power back on. Windows 10 automatically installed the appropriate driver and the card was ready to go. I've tested the card with most of my USB-C devices, including phones, hard drives, and SSDs. Everything worked fine and worked as expected. The card's total bandwidth is limited to 16 Gbps, so you can't use both 10 Gbps USB-C ports at the same time. However, this is practically not a problem, since the need for such a scenario will be extremely rare. Overall, there are no major issues with this USB-C card. Sure, the PD charging feature would be nice, but you won't find it on most other USB add-on cards. This USB-C card is easy to install, works great and comes with everything you need for regular and unobtrusive installations. Highly recommended.
