The magnet is very strong once you remove the back cover. I couldn't stick it to the fridge when the back cover was replaced. I recommend leaving it on if you use it on the fridge. Also, since the magnet is very strong, you need to be very careful and possibly wear gloves when replacing the back cover. It can seriously pinch
