Review on Efficient Insulator Stripping with the Holikme Stopper 39 Inch: Simplify Your Home Improvement Tasks! by Ken Hamdan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I felt the difference immediately

The cold season has hit PNW with a vengeance this year and I noticed how much cold air comes into my house through old doors. They were very easy to install. After measuring the doors and trimming the draft excluders, I wiped down the underside of the doors with a damp rag and dish soap. After installing 5 of these I figured it out and can offer some advice. The red backing of the adhesive strip is a little difficult to peel off, so peel back a few inches before sticking the strip to the door. As you peel it off, make sure the red plastic backing comes out at the top and not the bottom so you can pull it out all the way. Take the first few inches of exposed adhesive and stick it in the desired position. Take the rest of the cork that hasn't stuck yet and make sure everything is snug against the door and aligned. While holding the draft excluder in place, take the piece of plastic backing you left hanging down and gently pull the rest of the plastic backing up and away from the tape (slowly while keeping your hand on the strip to hold the position). The plastic backing is thin enough not to disturb the position stopper by gently pulling on it. All of my door gaps were different so some of my stoppers ended up slightly higher and some touched the ground. If they need to be fairly low, make sure you give the glue a full 24 hours to dry. In addition, each cork comes with 2 small nails to attach the edges. It made me feel even better! A couple of my doors have metal on the bottom so I couldn't use nails, but it worked because I used extra nails to better secure one of the "low" stops. When I first bent down to install them, I felt cold air coming out from under the crack. As soon as I put one at the door, the cold air was shut off. I am very happy with the results and can't believe how affordable they are! No more escaping the heat.
