A bit tricky to assemble, believe it or not
Rod is included two metal tubes that fit inside each other, with retractable pins on the inner tube that match holes on the outer tube. This allows you to adapt the bar to your door. I bought this rod for a sliding glass door. (I've been burgled in the past and the intruders gained entry through a sliding door.) I had a hard time making a board the right length so the door wouldn't open wide enough to allow access enable. I finally got it working, but not without frustration.
