I confess - stylistically it's not for me. In terms of functionality, however, this is an excellent decanter with a flute. 1.) It stands flat on a flat table. I know, but oddly I still often get cups/glasses that don't sit flat or wobble. This is unacceptable (it's driving me insane) so breathe easy - you're safe with this thing. 2.) It has a good weight due to 18/8 stainless steel. 3.) The inside is well polished with no flaws and the top is rounded so it's nice to drink from. 4.) It effectively keeps your drink hot or cold. No, there is no cover, but that's not the point! It will be a great gift for both yourself and someone who drinks. You know people who want it. They do. Now it's hard to deduct stars because I didn't like the style. My neighbor thinks it's great and longs for it. So 5 out of 5 points. Excellent.
