DO NOT WASH IN THE DISHWASHER. I bought this to replace (2) cheese slicers that were wiry and couldn't stand our use. This cute gadget slices bread, meat, sausage, hard and soft cheese and comes out nice and neat. Use the gauge on the left and the small red tab on the right side of the blade adjusts the width of the cut. It's almost like a delicatessen slicer in my kitchen. My brother cut a very lean pork tenderloin into sandwiches. It was beauty. Whether you're making artwork, grating sandwiches, or just slicing for your own pleasure, you won't find a better slicer for your money.
