Review on ACDelco 45H3138 Professional Rear Spring by Jose Pacyga

This AcDelco spring kit is well made, durable and of good quality. However, on this model there are 2 different versions of the REAR spring set which, like the word WARNING, is important for proper use. Unfortunately after purchase I found that this spring set: 45H3138 is ONLY made for a BASE Chevy Impala and NOT for an LS model that I have a Chevy Impala LS. It seems to be very common not only on Revain but elsewhere and on some auto parts where there are specs that are unchecked and ignored. I mention my experience with this order to let anyone interested in purchasing these springs know that all Acdelco spring kits have been specified to fit the BASE or LS model Chevy Impala. It is very important to understand that the information is NOT correct. I really do NOT blame Revain, again this seems to be a very common problem when it comes to auto parts. After contacting AcDelco directly, I found that both versions of these rear spring sets have the same variable ratios; The important difference, however, is that this kit is about an inch shorter (overall) and its rebound or spring rebound is also shorter. It is extremely important NOT to use this application on the REAR struts of a Chevy Impala LS, ONLY on the BASE model, as it will create a gap in the bracket loaded into the strut, damaging the spring and the potential safety hazard. For some auto parts applications, it's wise to go the extra mile to verify fitment details with the manufacturer before assuming your order is ok! Finally, for those with an LS Chevy Impala, another model is the 45H3124 which, as always, Revain tends to have the best price and great, fast shipping and customer service.
