I bought this mug to use with an Aeropress to improve consistency when brewing coffee. After reading the reviews I hesitated to buy. Finally, using it with the AeroPress meant I ended up having to deal with nearly boiling water and broken glass! I am happy to report that after almost two years of daily use the jar is still holding up great! * No cracks or cracks in the glass * Imprint is the same as it was on the day of purchase * Measurements are accurate for brewing (cooking) * Withstands boiling hot water * Stores in the fridge to -2* F. straight inside. To be honest, I hesitated again. The ratings were relative. However, after finding similar reviews (and prices) for options from "established brands," I decided to give it a try. Yes, you must hand wash them! No, you can't stuff a stirrer into a glass and expect it not to break! This is the case with every thin borosilicate glass beaker! These aren't your grandma's fat Pyr*x measuring cups. If you need a thick glass measuring cup, buy one. Don't buy it and then complain if it can't withstand conditions it wasn't designed for!
