My previous experience with this type of pressure gauge was that the gauge held the measured tire pressure until released with the button on the side of the gauge. These gauges don't appear to do this and will only show the pressure in the tires when pressed against the tire's studs. This small inconvenience will be eliminated after you get used to the operation of these sensors. The poor rating is in response to the fact that one of the two gauges purchased is losing so much air that it is unusable for getting accurate tire pressure readings.
