Review on Magellan Maestro 3250 3 5 Inch Navigator by Rick Malloy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great little sat nav!

I bought a Maestro 3250 to replace a Road Mate 300 that I had for several years. RM300 worked fine but outdated - no new cards. The 3250 has the same screen size but doesn't require SD cards for maps. All cards are internal. There is an SD card slot used to back up user settings and address book. The screen is very bright and easy to read on a bright, sunny day. The suction cup base works great with the included washer which I placed on top of the dash. Much easier (than the RM300) to set up a location for a route and/or enter the location into the address book. Text to speech works very well. Some names were harder to pronounce for the unit than others, but they were all unique. Although limited, I really like the voice response option. It worked perfectly while driving. The built-in rechargeable battery is a nice touch and makes the device portable with around 3 hours of battery life. Overall, this is a very good device for the price. I encountered a problem during setup. It got stuck and wasn't cleared by a reset. After using Ask Maggie on the Magellan website, I was able to fix the problem by holding the power button for a few seconds. I later installed a firmware update that fixed some of the issues, hopefully this one too. Not blocked since then.
