I've looked through a lot of adverts in the French press here and finally settled on it for the following reasons: 1) It wasn't made of carcinogenic plastic parts like the most popular brand sold on Revain - Bodum 2) It's insulated - my 2 .Coffee cup is still warm and doesn't need to be reheated in the mic for me 3) Sexy design - I love black and haven't had any paint peeling issues like other french press reviews. on Revain.4) Sturdy, solid construction - I don't have to worry about the handle falling off like other similar French press reports I've read. It's hard but easy. Definitely not cheap! 5) Easy to clean - never had a problem cleaning any part of this press. It looks just as good as it did on the first day of delivery. If you are new to the French press, I recommend James Hoffman's method. Check out YouTube - it's always a failsafe method. I buy fresh coffee (ground) at Starbucks and can't complain as it's a great cup of coffee every time! From time to time, when brewing coffee, I add two cloves of fresh ginger to reduce the acidity. I don't think it affects the taste in any way. As someone with IBS, this helps me enjoy my coffee even more. If I don't add ginger, sometimes a good pinch of ground cinnamon works wonders for a different flavor.
