Review on Circular saw Makita 5008MG, 1800 W blue/silver by Michal Wasowicz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very high-quality product, I take it not for the first time.

At first I was upset by the lack of the possibility of using a regular guide. The sole is made without a special groove for docking with Makita guides. I looked at the prices for circulars with the support of branded guides and was horrified. What is this worldwide conspiracy? Fortunately, there was a kind person who suggested how to put 5008mg on the Chikomaster folk universal guide. The savings are significant. And the ride is smoother on ball bearings than sliding on sawdust. Cuts perfectly evenly along the guide. I've already cut a lot of boards. For comparison: 1.4 meters of the Makita guide costs approximately 6,000. The cost of 1.4 meters of a folk guide is approximately 500. - This is a regular rectangular aluminum profile 60 mm x 40 mm. We sell such profiles with 6-meter sticks, 2022. a piece. They can cut off and sell a multiple of a meter. 1 meter weighs approximately 1 kg. I recommend a vacuum cleaner for connection, dust flies much less when cutting.

Pros
  • 1800W. Cast sole. Cut depth scale. Cutting line illumination. Adjustment bolt for precise 90° alignment between disc and sole. A good disk is included: diameter 210mm, bore 30/25mm, 24 teeth, article D-29050 (it costs about 2500 separately). Smooth, smooth saw cut of a tree. Easily fits on the universal folk guide Chikomaster without backlash.
Cons
  • Guide from Makita is not provided. On YouTube, people complained about the batch with large lateral play in the hinge at the base, through which the depth of cut is adjusted. I got it without such a defect. Parallel emphasis when located on the right backlash, you can change the angle to the right / left relative to the sole. Although, maybe this is how the manufacturers intended, so that it would be possible to slightly adjust the cut line when using the parallel stop. No soft start (but you can do it yourself, there are examples on the Internet). Sold without special case.
