My kit just arrived. I was hesitant to buy this because of the negative reviews. So glad I did. It's such a unique design compared to many samplers I've reviewed. Some of the reviews are several years old so the kit may have been improved. Nothing is missing. As for the chart, I've been making the tally cross for a number of years and I find this chart no more difficult to read than most. If you are new to cross counting, you will find it very important to keep track of your progress. I've found it very helpful to mark finished squares with a colored marker. I can't comment on the number of strands as I haven't started painting yet, but I have to say that all the colors are sorted and in the order of the color guide provided, which is a real plus. I've made many sets where I had to separate all the colors myself. So, on the face of it, I'll give that an A+. When I'm done with the picture I'll update my review. Happy sewing!
