This is a regular jug. It gets two stars because it's as pretty as the picture, the spout pours well with minimal dripping (ONLY with the cap off) and the handle is nicely shaped and easy to hold and pour. But the two reasons I chose it, the airtight lid and the advertised 2 liter size, didn't work. The jug comfortably holds about 7 cups of liquid, 56 oz. It is filled to the top handle and there is about an inch of space between the liquid and the closed lid. You can add another cup for a total of 64 oz if you fill it completely so the liquid is just under the closed lid. I think you could fit another 4 ounces if you took the lid off and filled the jug to the brim where it would spill as soon as you move it, but I expected the capacity to be the same as the jug at use for the intended purpose and not the maximum technical performance. Also, the lid is unusable. It's not waterproof. When you fill the pitcher, close the lid so neither of the two holes in it are facing the spout and pour, the liquid will still flow out. The silicone seal doesn't sit flush with the jug where the spout curves so the water drains that way and in any case the water can easily enter through the two drainage holes in the lid. What good is a lid if it doesn't let air through and injects it? (Not to mention the bugs. So many they make sun tea with it.) The lid spills TERRIBLE too. Even with a pouring hole in the middle of the spout as it's a slow splashing dripping mess. Though trying to fill a filtered hole is even worse. Although it pours well without a lid, why even buy it with a lid? The advertised wide neck isn't that wide either, but I'm not deducting a star for that, because you can also measure exactly that it has a diameter of 3 inches. If you have large hands and intend to hand wash this, test with a 3 inch can first. The glass, as other reviewers have pointed out, isn't thick, but it's not too thin either. Think about the thickness of the jam jar. This makes it light and comfortable to hold, but I also fear for its durability when my clumsy hands have to wash it. Lid, you'll probably be happy with that. It looks just as beautiful in person as it does in the picture, and it pours beautifully without a cap. But if you thought you could comfortably fill it to a full 2 liters and have an airtight lid to prevent spills and make it easy to pour or filter, look elsewhere.
