I wanted to use this at the end of the gutter as I didn't intend to pick up leaves and debris from the gutter. This turned out to be poor design for this app as it didn't fit snugly and straight. Firstly, the tension knob has 3 functions: a) tightening the position of the plate, b) connecting the two halves of the tensioning mechanism, c) attaching to the mounting platform. This is a horrible design because if the handle comes off, everything and the solar panel will fall to the ground! So I removed it and designed/built my own out of scrap aluminum and attached the original Arlo solar panel mount to it! It is much better and more reliable than the finished product.
