This high-tech tray requires little maintenance. I can thaw 1 pound of frozen ground beef in 30 minutes. Only place the tray on a flat tabletop, otherwise the tray will not work properly. I've tried thawing a whole frozen chicken and placing the tray on a baking sheet to catch the condensation. That does not work. I removed the pan from the pan and the whole frozen chicken was thawed in 3 hours. In general, this is a necessary kitchen utensil.
