I recently bought this amplifier for a second system in my living room. This miniature Texas Instruments TPA3251 Class-D amp sounds great driving my KEF LS50 monitors for room-filling sound. When the amp is on and no music is playing, this amp is very quiet. I am using a Mean Well LRS-200-36 switching power supply set at reduced power to power this amp at 30VDC. I would only recommend this excellent power supply to users familiar with safe AC operation. I plan to put this power supply in a nice black anodized aluminum case with an IEC power connector and a power switch. Operational amplifiers to "tune" the sound quality to your liking. In a way it's like rolling vacuum tubes with tube amps. I may need to purchase a pair of NRJ MUSES02 op amps, specifically designed for high quality audio applications. I also connected this amp to my main system in a dedicated listening room. I have an Audio Research LS7 tube amp and two power amps that I rotate: a refurbished McIntosh MC240 tube power amp and a solid state amp designed by Nelson Pass with Sony VFETs that I bought from a kit via diyAudio .com put together. . While the little Class D amp from Aiyima doesn't quite match my reference amps, it doesn't fall far behind either, which is impressive considering the price difference between these amps. For $50 it's worth checking out. Just make sure you have a compatible DC power adapter. Additional comments: After purchasing this amp, I tried several op amps replacing two standard Texas Instruments NE5532 dual op amps and settled on Burr-Brown OPA627AU op amps with DIP8 adapters. . These op amps improve bass response, midrange detail, and smoother highs. First of all, the soundstage is deeper with better imaging. A few people have tried the NJR MUSES02 and Burson Audio V5i-D op amps and liked them for the same reasons. The ability to try different op amps is another reason to get this amp. Finally, I also tried this amp with a 30V/5A desktop power supply from an auction site and it is similar to the more powerful Mean Well LRS-200-36. The power supply I used with this amp. This inexpensive power supply has a slightly higher noise level than the Mean Well power supply, which is only audible with my more sensitive Klipsch Forte II floorstanding speakers. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't enjoy doing DIY with the mains voltage required to use a Mean Well power supply.
