Costs less than $100

For those who don't turn wrenches for a living but are confident enough to start something and have the common sense to quit when it exceeds their skills and knowledge, this fix is easy . For a 2015 Chrysler 300 you will need a 10mm socket for the drive bolts (not a backup nut as the threads are cut into the trunk lid, DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN before loosening the bolts, turn them very slightly to get an idea of how tight they should be) and a flat head screwdriver to remove the plastic casing tabs holding the rug in place (there are three to remove). With the drivetrain removed, the ground wire is located on the left stud (driver's side) and runs between the drivetrain and the cover. Carefully remove the wire connector from the back of the drive (break this connector and the job will be more difficult). When tightening the screws, be careful not to overtighten. Take your time, it's an easy fix and will save you $150 in labor costs.
