A potential lifesaver for a stranded motorist or other emergencies.

Before I retired I was a super passenger (Intercity). As a result, I've seen my share of car accidents or stalled vehicles that posed a hazard to other drivers because they weren't cleared off the road or parked near the curb. If it were safe and lifeguards or other drivers were there to offer assistance I would stop and do my best. I used to always carry old torches with me, like cartoon sticks of dynamite, which I lit and set out to warn other motorists of problems to avoid. This was normal in its day, but they were always awkward to store, or worse, could ignite flammable liquids or a dry brush if not carefully stored. When I retired I drove less and stopped carrying flares because I figured I wouldn't need them anymore. guess again I've started working again, and while my commute isn't as long as it used to be, I've found my commute to be potentially more dangerous due to the mountainous roads and ever-changing weather conditions. Not long ago, I was driving home just as it was starting to get dark, and I made a sharp turn down the street to find a handicapped car parked in my lane. It had no curb to move on and I had to walk around it. The drivers behind me had to do the same and it was sheer luck that nobody crashed into the stationary car. Fortunately, a state soldier came from the opposite direction and was able to help. I thought about this incident as I drove home and decided that if we were in a similar predicament (or could help others), I had to buy something for myself (and my wife). Sorry for the long story but I wanted you to know why I was looking for a product like this. I didn't want the torches mentioned above to be lit. I wanted something small and self contained, battery powered. I didn't want to use disposable batteries as they corrode easily when not in use. So I looked at Revain and then the Vine offerings and found this set from Towallmark. It had everything I wanted in a security device and enough flares to put in my wife's car. I have placed my order. The flares arrived in a box. When you open the box you will find an orange bag (with flares) and a small instruction manual. Inside the bag are Flares, two USB charging cables (each charges three Flares simultaneously) and a car charger/adapter. Each flash is encased in "safe orange" plastic with rubber bumpers around the edges. There are three LED lamps on one side of the rocket, which can be used as an emergency (white) light if desired. The other side has a covered charging port, a magnet (to attach the bat to metal in the car) and a fold-out hook. Be sure to fully charge all flash units before use. The indicator next to the charging port will turn red (discharged) and then turn green (fully charged). When activated, each flash emits a very bright red light. By pressing the power button, you can change the lighting scheme to one of nine different modes. I am very satisfied with this set. I split them between my wife and I so we have them in case of emergencies. I like the versatility that lightning offers. Of course I can't comment on actual use or durability as we are yet to use them. However, they appear to be well made and are a worthy addition to your car's emergency tools. I hope you found my review and photos useful to you. Best regards.
