My crabs love to dive in this and I wish I had a second one for a different angle. All you have to do is make sure it's deep enough in the substrate for the crabs to climb in, and leave a sponge or two so they can use it as a ramp to get back up. It's definitely deep enough for most hermits, because even my big one can dive properly.
