This chair is exactly what I was looking for to help my granddaughter get to the sink. The space is small and this easily folds up quite thick and surprisingly thin. When open it is stable and the perfect height for a 3-4 year old to sit next to the sink. It's also rock solid. I am very happy with it. I'm sure I'll be using it in other places when the grandkids grow up and I love that I can fold it up right to the side of a closet or next to a toilet. He hides easily! When folded, it is just over 1" wide and approximately 17" x 13" tall. Its top is 9" x 12" and its base is 10 x 13. I've found that I have to press really hard to lock it when I open it in the stool, but once locked it stays on well. There's a very bright image of a dodge and an arrow showing me where to press to lock it (it's obvious what to do but this image should still be thicker), and an image of an open one padlock and arrows showing you where to press to lock it. The base has small rubber feet. When you open the top to fold it down, the sides fold in. The top stays up and is thin and long for storage, so you won't need much space at all, but the space needs to be at least 17 inches deep. or high. Very durable, hard for me to tip and not slippery at all.
