Great pen. Yes, removing the internal bushing from the mount is a problem. I used the blade of a knife to gently pry them apart. Be careful when using a screwdriver as pinching a screwdriver blade between the two parts will create bending marks on the outside of the rosette. Here's a tip: once you *barely* separate the socket and bracket, there's a ledge on the bracket that you can use to slowly pry the two pieces apart with a flat-blade screwdriver. Once the two pieces are separated, it's easy to install. I think it's very good that the inner rosette covers the fastening screws, looks very nice. Handle feels firm after installation; I don't expect any problems.
