I got this RC with the intent of modding it to entertain my dog at the dog park. It (mostly) succeeded! First off, the controls are much better than other RC cars I've seen. The steering and accelerator have a range instead of just on/off. The range is also really good and I haven't lost reception once yet at the park I normally take my dog.The best part about this RC though is that it's on the entry-level of a professional RC car. It's not the same as the Radio Shack specials and is instead closer to a hobbyist RC. It even uses the same battery connector as many RC vehicles. I was able to use the same battery for this car as I use for my quad-copter drone transmitter (controller).It's not all sun and daisies though. The negatives are pretty minimal, but the main frustration I have is that replacing the battery requires the removal of these tiny pins which can easily get lost while the battery is charging (ask me how I know that). The marketing is a little misleading also and, while the entire bottom of the RC is a solid plastic piece, keeping out dirt and water, the sides are completely open and water can easily get into the area where the motor and controller live. So, contrary to what it looks like, this is not very waterproof.Overall though, this RC is a great bang for the buck and I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a decent RC without breaking into the pricing tier of the "hobbyist level".
