This is how the original Arduino should have been!

If I were to start working with Arduino today, I would start with this board (or its cousin) because: * Colorful! A really attractive silkscreen is actually very useful as it has clear, easy to read pin descriptions all over the board. You don't need to refer to cheat sheets when developing on this board. * Safer! In the original, it was only a matter of time before you smoked out a controller leg trying to power up something too big. This board has a MOSFET connected to each output pin, allowing you to drive relatively large loads without additional parts. * Blinky-er! The original came with a user controlled LED. This one comes with 10 user-programmable LEDs, a set to make sure the power is on, a set to indicate the serial port is working, and a pair of NeoPixel-style RGB LEDs! * Flashier - Did I mention a few NeoPixels? * Be more confident! The original only had a reset button. This also includes a pre-wired custom button. * Boxers! - It's a bit silly, but this board comes in a box with holes that allow you to power and program it while it's still in the box. On a crowded (or metal!) workbench, this is a huge advantage. * Volume up! - There's a little buzzer on board, including a switch to mute the damn thing. * Cheap! - Despite all these additions, this board is still surprisingly affordable.

Pros
  • Same function as the original Arduino
Cons
  • Annoyed
