First of all the sharpener is great and great for the money. The fine side has the right grit to get a good edge on the kitchen knife without wearing it too much. Just five strokes on each side and you can shave (a little) the hair on your arms. After that you can enhance the blade with steel or a fine polishing stone. One point deduction for the moldy bamboo holder. This stone is meant to be used when wet, so a wooden storage stand isn't the best idea. I suggest buying the same white-blue stone, but in a plastic holder.
