I connected the ethernet and it took a while to be recognized. USB-3 took second place. I tried connecting my SSD to USB-C - no response. I did a bit of research and found that it is used to power the hub and my MacBook at the same time. My research says getting enough power for all my power hungry devices is recommended. I thought I could use the USB-C connector for my USB-C storage devices like SSDs. Since my MacBook only has 2 USB-C (or Thunderbolt actually), plugging the power adapter into the hub will share my other on the MacBook with my USB-C/Thunderbolt device. So I didn't lose the port. I just wish it was explained somewhere in the package. Or maybe I just haven't read everything.
