Review on πŸ”§ iFixit Minnow Driver Kit: 16 Precision Bits for Efficient Repair of Smartphones, Game Consoles, and Small Electronics by Adam Rogers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent inexpensive kit.

I will not lie, I feel a little deceived. When I bought this set, like other customers, I expected that the screwdriver would have the same aluminum handle as the Mako and Manta sets, but it's plastic with a textured silicone rubber finish. I understand that for $15 you can expect a lot to get a good aluminum driver, but the store page isn't very specific on materials. Also, judging by the photos, the Moray and Essential Electronics kits include a plastic driver. Still, this is iFixit and they make quality tools, and even this cheap set is still pretty good. I have colleagues who seem to have bought Chinese fakes, mini bit screwdriver sets, and the bits are junk, they rust or break easily, the screwdriver is round, they are absolute junk. So yes, I recommend even the cheapest iFixit tool kits. You just deserve to know what you're buying.
