Review on High-Performance Roof Mounted Dual-Trumpet Horns by Wolo (418) - 12V by Ron Collins

AVOID WOLO - Poor quality, lack of integrity.

I recently bought a Wolo model 418 (12V) horn. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this product and outraged by Volo's dishonesty. Despite Revain's bad reputation, I believed Wolos CSR when he told me the bad reviews were due to improper installation. Horn. Volo assured me that their direct drive air pump was powerful enough to drive three tubes. This is a blatant lie. The pump is VERY INSUFFICIENT even for two pipes. I can blow trumpets a lot louder with my breath, SERIOUSLY. Now I have to buy a second compressor and a relay to control the pipes. I will NEVER trust Wolo and buy any of their products again. If I had to rebuild I would buy an Italian made Marco XB2 which comes with two pipes, two air pumps and two relays. It costs more but gets solid reviews and can be heard on Youtube. This experience taught me a few things about air horns in general: • ALL air horn manufacturers lie in their marketing. • There are two types of systems; 1) rotary air pumps. 2) Piston compressors with receivers • The pumps make little noise. Compressors are much more powerful • Anyone who says a pump can make a "train sound" is a LIAR! • If using a pump you will need one per tube for each volume • Installation requires mechanical improvisation regardless as they say it's easy. This was an unbiased and UNPAID review. JSmithThe Marco XB2 MARCO XB2 12V Xtreme Blast Electric Horn (Italian Quality, Heavy Duty, Very Loud. Dual Compressor. Chrome Tube Horn. 120dB) Please don't hesitate to ask any questions about my experience with the Wolo and the 418! I answer all inquiries.
