I bought this truck tool box to store equipment around the home. I don't have a lot of stuff, but I run my business from home and I have some pretty expensive stuff. This drawer is great for locking my stuff. It has a 3-point latch, so I think it's pretty resistant to crowbar or screwdriver attacks. To further increase security, I bolted the box to the wall of my house. The box is quite heavy, but a few crooks can carry it away. Not now! Of course, this is unfortunately not a fireproof box. But what I did was buy a fireproof safe and put it in a box. So this small vault (which can easily be carried away) will now be very difficult to steal. What I did to deal with the rather large box size was to place my small two drawer cabinet on top of the box. This will raise the filing cabinet, but not too high. I made a piece of plywood over the box to keep the filing cabinet from sliding off. Overall I think this is a smart way to protect valuable gear at a very low cost. Update: February 2018 This is a beautifully designed box. But I deducted a star. The lock is difficult to use. I'm having trouble entering a key. I poured a lot of graphite powder into the lock and it seemed to help. I don't take this box with me on the street. I suspect this could lead to further problems with the lock and dirt and grime. Companies should think about that. But in general I still like the box. Nicely painted, the steel is thick and strong, the internal volume is good. I just hope the lock holds.
