Review on πŸ”’ Seal in the Quality: Lund 30002 Genesis Tailgate Seal by Tim Roby

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks like it will work great

I have a 2000 F150. My kids have a group and needed a weatherproof way to transport gear. After installing the connector, I found that the trunk lid does not close very well. I found this item from Lund on Revain for a great price so I bought 2 of these. The material is a soft "open foam" (meaning soft) that feels durable despite its soft nature. When cut it looks like a big small "d". The overall height is approximately 1 3/16" (29mm) and the round d is approximately 11/16" (17mm). The middle "d" is hollow, which allows the seal to crack and conform to an uneven surface. The adhesive is 3M "double strength" all weather tape and is 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) wide. If you're unfamiliar with this, the tape is actually a thin strip of closed-cell foam with adhesive on both sides. It is commonly used for vent visors and fairing glue. I recently bought some buns from my local Lowes store. It's relatively cheap, but really exciting. Just don't wear it in cold weather. The recommended setting is 50 degrees Fahrenheit and above. "On my truck, it's not a flat surface, it's slightly curved for some reason. The gasket material is soft enough and so is the adhesive strip to line up straight with the grooves. All in all it was quick and easy. If there are any concerns , I would like to point out that the bottom padding is exposed to any loose material like dirt or mulch if you take this to bed with you from time to time you can use a tarp or something else to protect it I ended up just using one roll and about 18" remained. I'm sticking with the extra one I bought.
