Review on πŸ”₯ Tappecue: True Wi-Fi Thermometer with Dual Sensor Probes - American Made, Ideal for BBQ Smokers. Monitor & Alarm with Android & iOS Apps! by Alyssa Bell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well, mediocre design

Experience: I used a Wi-Fi thermometer to smoke brisket this week. After charging, I worked about 11 hours without any problems. Functionally, it worked great. Once installed, it's easy to use and a lifeline for working alongside cooking. Connecting Wi-Fi to my home router was relatively easy and worked very well. The app is easy to use and was very helpful for tracking throughout the day. The alarms on the thermometer and in the app had to be adjusted as they seemed to go off all the time. The graphics and data tracking are great. I used two temperature sensors so I could control the chamber temperature and the chestpiece temperature. They were relatively close to the temperature sensors that came with my Woodwind Smoker. Accuracy wasn't an issue. Network - I like chasing Wi-Fi for long smoke attempts. Design: very waterproof but also very dated. The touchscreen seems to be from the 90s. The screen is sensitive and half the time you type a letter you choose the wrong letter, requiring you to edit your input. The probes don't sit very well in the side of the box due to the waterproof plastic around the holes. Basically, after you set it up, you don't need to touch it, otherwise the probe may pop out of the holder. It could have been designed a lot better. As for the sensors themselves, make sure you connect them before turning on the thermometer or you may get inaccurate readings. I had to read online to do this as I was trying the thermometer for the first time due to very inaccurate ambient readings.

Pros
  • PREMIUM BBQ MEAT THERMOMETER: The Tappecue Touch has multiple sensor options and all the extras you need to live a great life. Made and supported in the USA with TRUE WI-FI allowing you to remotely connect and view settings, you can read up to 8 temperatures with this BBQ thermometer.
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others
