This collar is wonderful.

This collar is great. I made the mistake of putting my Rottweiler puppy in a harness which I have not done in previous dogs. Not surprisingly, he only taught him how to pull (Rotty has been used to pull carts for decades). Not wanting to resort to a choke chain, I tried various so-called "loose" harnesses until he was 9 months old and around 75 pounds. While he heals well most of the time when he was determined to follow his nose or meet the person he liked, I had little to no control over him. I found several videos from a reputable trainer on how to fit and use spiked collars and got one from another manufacturer. It was working pretty well until one day my pup ran to the mailbox and suddenly shards of steel flew into the air - the collar broke and my pup was free! Luckily he stayed right next to me and I made a leash out of his leash and we went home. As soon as we got there I lined up and bought this collar which was my first time considering it but it turned out to be a cheaper one. You really do get what you pay for. Now that Jake is trying to yank me out with a simple jerk, that's enough to get him healing again. If he decides to hit someone across the street (he's friendly enough he could be a nuisance), he'll correct himself most of the time, and if not, it's just a few quick jerks and we're back on track. . . I have Meunier's disease and some damage to the nerves and ligaments in both arms so I can guarantee you that this collar requires no violence, it leaves no marks and as excited as Jake is when he sees it, there I am I'm sure it doesn't hurt. . I would recommend this to any dog owner IF they take the time to learn how to properly put on and use a spike or clip collar.
