Cute Collar

This collar LOOKS pretty, not brutal like regular spiked collars. Fits snugly on my Great Dane's neck, looks smooth. Very well done. My dog responds well to gentle reminders in a collar. I'd like a 'quick release' that doesn't exist, but I suppose if you 'need' a collar to get your dog to behave, a quick release can come at the worst possible moment. So the extra minutes to lose weight are worth it! I also tried it on my 9 month old Irish Wolfhound puppy who had way more hair than a Great Dane.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Perfect combination of form and function

Without a doubt, these are beautiful collars. In terms of how well this collar controls our dog: - On a scale of 1 to 3, where ONE is a regular chain/choke collar and THREE is a spiked collar with real spikes, I'll give this collar a TWO. It REALLY controls our dog, more so than a choke chain but less than a real Herm Sprenger Prong collar. It's just OUR special dog. Get this new collar - it's beautiful, highly functional and has it's place in the training world. I rate it 5 stars for quality…

Great Collar - Collars

If this collar was lost I would replace it in a heartbeat. The positive aspects are the quality of safety (when sized correctly) and I think the corrective action is a bit less than a traditional tine if that is an issue. Also, I haven't noticed any evil looks and since I live in the city, many people see me with my dog every day. However, this is a serious collar. So, if you are one of those individuals who appreciate well-designed items and are willing to put in the time and effort required…

This collar is wonderful.

This collar is great. I made the mistake of putting my Rottweiler puppy in a harness which I have not done in previous dogs. Not surprisingly, he only taught him how to pull (Rotty has been used to pull carts for decades). Not wanting to resort to a choke chain, I tried various so-called "loose" harnesses until he was 9 months old and around 75 pounds. While he heals well most of the time when he was determined to follow his nose or meet the person he liked, I had little to no control over him.

Great collar, wish it was a little softer

I like that these collars don't look like regular collars. They're heavy, made of durable steel, and seem to last forever. I wish the carabiner was easier to open and close. Also, the teeth feel a little stiffer than regular collars, like they're constantly pressing on my dog's throat, even though mine are very loose. I'm thinking of wrapping them in cloth or something to soften the sharpness of the teeth. My boys are standard 75 and 90 pound poodles who are generally very calm on a leash. But…
