Review on UV germicidal lamp (UV cleaner) Rombica Portable Sterilizer ST-UVP01 Rombica Portable Sterilizer ST-UVP01 by Ewa Komorowska ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality was generally satisfied, there were minor shortcomings.

To be honest, I expected that the device would be the size of a phone box, only more authentic, for headphones and a control panel. Yes, the dimensions are written on the Internet, but offhand you can’t really estimate . In general, keep in mind that it turned out to be much larger and almost twice as thick as the box. “Portable” it is probably only because you don’t need to connect a 220V outlet, and there is so little where it will fit) When you turn it on, you will be pleased (surprise, make a stutterer, wake up your neighbors - underline as necessary) an undocumented voice guidance function. “Welcome to your portable sterilizer” - Loud, no, VERY loud when plugged in. I didn’t even check what else he could speak, first of all I dismantled the device and turned off this speaker, fortunately, it was easy to do. At the same time I saw what is hidden behind such large sizes - and there is only a power supply, all small things and a lot of emptiness. Also, I did not understand what the aromatization function does, because. a whole separate button was made for it, however, there are no wires to the flavoring compartment. In general, I bought it purely to spend bonuses, and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. Somehow I don’t really want to give it or resell it, but when I get tired of playing, it’s better to take it apart for spare parts, use UV lamps in a more thoughtful device of my own design.

Pros
  • It seems like there are real UV-C lamps inside that really disinfect things. At least, judging by the specifications and appearance - the lamps look solid. Fits a phone and headphones, or a pair of bracelets.
Cons
  • Workmanship, despite the price and everything else - Chinese game. The instructions state that when the lid is opened, the radiation should be turned off, but in reality this does not happen, and I did not find any opening sensor inside. Looking at UV-C radiation is not very useful, if anything. You can turn off the device with the button before opening, but it is easy to accidentally press the button when opening the lid. The case is completely black, and the lamps shine only from the slots on the sides from below. A reasonable question arises - how does the radiation get on the screen and the back panel of the phone? The answer is most likely not, which was confirmed by a highly scientific test using paper colored with a highlighter that glows in UV radiation. In the first photo, the piece of paper just lies in the device, in the second - the phone is in the device, and there is a piece of paper on it. The bottom side of the phone actually lies close to the bottom, so it is also not illuminated, and only the sides remain. The duration of exposure is 10 minutes, after which it automatically turns off. Maybe in theory this is enough, but then it’s not clear why they built in wireless charging and a USB port inside (by the way, why it’s not clear, with the cable connected, the phone can hardly fit there), and in general, I would like to just leave things there for as long as possible , within reasonable limits. The wireless charging itself is located in the middle and does not work if you place the phone at the top and the headphones at the bottom, as shown in the product photo.
