I purchased this Amana tool - 55200 Carbide Tip 82° Screw and #4 Countersink with Adjustable Depth Stop 55246. Good news first: 1). The countersink 55200 is ideal for the adjustable depth stop 55246.2). Carbide tips looked very well polished.3). Excellent chip evacuation when used with the 55246 adjustable depth stop. Now for the bad news: the countersunk hole was rough, not round, with noticeable burrs on the edges. This result is due to several disadvantages of the product: 1). The pilot bit is not centered. The hole in the shank is slightly larger than the diameter of the center drill (fixed with a hex head screw). This off-center position of the center drill will result in excessive wobbling when using a power drill or hand drill.2). The countersink has only 2 carbide flutes that produce an extremely rough cut (especially if the center drill wobbles). I have tried selected pine and oak at different speeds with a power drill and a hand drill and the result has always not suited me.3). 55246 The adjustable depth gauge left black circles while Amana advertised it as "no damage." I would only use this drill for pre-drilling pilot holes for decking and other outdoor projects with very rough wood. If you're trying to build cabinets for woodworking projects indoors, stay away from this product. You can't plug countersunk holes because they won't come out round (even with a drill).
