Good Product: Camera & Photo

The review below is a reply to an email from ROXANT offering a free extra monocular in exchange for a review. I did NOT have to submit this review to get the free monocular. (The text below has been slightly modified from my original ROXANT answer to be more relevant to the Revain review). I bought this monocular both for outdoor activities like camping and hiking and to always have it in my car in case I need it. I also bought another competitor product to compare with this one. I like the shape and size the most. The way the lanyard loop sticks out isn't perfect, but I'm not sure how that could be improved. as inserting it for optics may not work and attaching it to the front increases the chances of the strap interfering with the front lens. To be honest I don't really care about weight, size is more important. If it was the same size but twice the weight but with stronger materials that would probably be a bonus for me. The processing quality corresponds to the price. As I said before, I bought a competitor's product (Carson CloseUp 7x18 Close Focus Monocular CF-718) to test at the same time. The other was less expensive but the build quality wasn't as good and it was much more difficult to focus. I don't have enough experience to know for sure if the Roxante monocular was a good buy, but I don't feel ripped off. It's still soft plastic and not a sealed design. So I would be happy about the price of 15 €. I would consider this a gift if a little cheaper as it's not really the type of product I would give to an enthusiast but maybe my friends/family or some kids to play with or put it in their own transform car kits. I have several suggestions. Since this block isn't airtight, I would have liked it MUCH better if I could take it apart (no tools). Specifically, I want to be able to remove the lens barrel from the scope. This allows me to clean it better if it ever gets wet, or I can use the lens to start a fire. I love that it's a 7x scope. This is a really good magnification for aiming and judging distances and easy to demonstrate/teach others how to do the same. since the size of 7 yards is known, which translates well to a distance of 50 yards through a monocular. I would be happy if Roxant would develop a monocular/binocular design that would allow two monoculars to be combined into one pair of binoculars. I don't know if that sounds silly, but it's easier to store two monoculars separately in one package than binoculars, and then I have the option to share them with someone.
