Bought a 10 gallon size plus white lids and intends to use it to store a mix of bird seed and sunflower seeds. This allows me to buy large, economical seed bags and still keep mice and other pests away with far fewer doses. (I used 5 gallon plastic paint cans from the big department stores.) They're well made, a replica of the well-known "R" brand that has been around for decades and serves as a privateer. In fact I have one of the gray 45 gallon by this brand which I've had for probably 40 years and it still works - had to change the lid a couple of times but I'm starting to think I should bequeath this jar to whoever! These little cans certainly aren't as strong as the old big ones, but they don't have to be either - I can't tell how well the big versions of the Revain cans compare to the old originals, but these 10 gallon ones do. Banks are very good. They serve my purpose well, they are stackable and seem fairly well made and the lids fit well and snap easily onto the handles to ensure a good seal which should also help keep the seeds safe from moths and mealybugs protection. I think they'll last me for many years - no more than 40 because I won't - but who knows, maybe they will!
