Doesn't work with soft mud bottom

This thing's range is amazing, but there are two big problems. First, when you extend a retractable pole to its full length, the sections near the retrieval end are so small and the metal so thin that sooner or later it will break. When I tried to use it yesterday and pulled it all the way out, the pole started to curve so much towards the other end where the retriever was attacking that I immediately pulled it in about ⅓ of the way because it looked like it would the same happen interruption. . So you end up with a retriever with a usable range of about ⅔ the actual total length. The closer you get to the grip when extending the pole, the larger the circumference of the pole's telescoping section. So I had to be careful to only lengthen the telescope sections closest to the handle, but I left about a third of the sections closest to the end of the retractor unstretched. ⅔ still longer than most competitors, by the way. But the other problem is deal breaker, at least for me. The problem is how this retriever handles the ball. Yesterday I tried half a dozen different ponds on the course and every time I tried to grab the ball it only pushed deeper into the soft muddy mud and the water fogged up so I couldn't make it. second try without waiting for the water to run clear. The principle of this device is that you have to place a white plastic circle on top of the ball and when you apply light pressure it is an inner ring that is spring loaded and pops around the bell and snaps but with a soft muddy bottom it does pushes. It's deeper in the dirt and the inner ring and spring never fire to catch the ball. That's the main reason I'm returning this retriever and instead buying one that has a metal claw mechanism that doesn't require you to mount it on a ball like this. With the claw, I can position the metal claw vertically and slide it down around the ball, applying any amount of pressure on the ball, and then I can close the metal claw on the sides of the ball and lift it out of the pond.
